Volunteer Opportunities |

Office Support: |
|
|
|
Answering telephones, contacting individuals and members who are looking for information or need support. Clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shreading, making calls, as other duties as required. |

Computer Support: |
|
|
|
Varies from word processing, working on data bases, developing flyers. Programs we use - WordPerfect, Word, Publisher, Excel, Microsoft Works. |
|
|
Special Events: |
|
|
|
Helping out at mall displays, health fairs or fundraising events. Periodic volunteer work as events come up. |
|
|
Baking: |
|
|
|
Helping to supply snacks at some of our events. This helps us to reduce the cost of the event to the Community Group. |
|
|
Flyer Delivery: |
|
|
|
Delivery flyers in your area of the community to help promote our Commnity Group, the Support Group, education sessions, ASMP. |
|
|
Phoning: |
|
|
|
We have a phoning committee that contacts our members about upcoming events. We are also in need of individuals to do period phoning for various events, this is done in our office or could be done at home. |
|
|
Advocacy: |
|
|
|
Writing letters, making calls etc. to municipal, provincial or even federal politicians about health care and resources for individuals whose lives are affected by arthritis. Contacting the press about local issues working with the Communication Committee. Advocating for local programs within the community. (ie. Exercise programs through Parks & Rec.) |

|
Health Promotion/Public Education - Working with the Education & Communication: |
|
|
|
Committees to educate the community, high schools, seniors centres, etc. about arthritis in general, programs and services we offer at the Langley Community Group or are offered in the community. Working with the Fundraising Committee to speak at local groups or service clubs looking for financial support. |
|

|
|
